Lilypad puppet theater
Lily Gershon is no stranger to the value of puppets as the director, found and face of the Lilypad Puppet Theater. It is a non-profit organization whose goal is to spread the art of puppetry specifically in a way that is accessible to all income levels and ages.
After starting her career as an english teacher, Gershon has been a professional puppeteer for the past decade. A lifetime lover of the arts, she began puppetry for fun to entertain her family and soon discovered a passion for creating and up-cycling old materials as a means of storytelling. Utilizing her master's in education, she believes in the importance of teaching empathy and compassion through puppetry. Overall, Gershon wants to spread happiness and joy to those who engage with her works as per her stage name, "Lily Silly."
Her organization is a story about creation and community, fueled by Gershon's own passion and love for the craft. Acting in Service to the community, funded by grants and donations, the puppet theater brings like-minded individuals together to explore the magic of puppetry. A realm with possibilities that are seemingly endless, showing why this artform has stuck with us for so long.
